Jim Sakaguchi, General Manager of the Oceania, Middle East & Southwest Asia Marketing Division of Toyota Motor Corporation says, “Under the current severe economic situation in the US and European market, I am very much pleased of the sales result in the Middle East Region. We expect the Middle East market to progress steadily in 2009 under the positive context such as stable fiscal revenue of Middle East countries, continuous execution of mega projects, and alleviation of inflation proceeding from the weak Dollar and Euro. On the other hand, as the manufacture cost per vehicles is prospected to increase hereafter due to continuous high fixed cost and the global production decrease, it would be a challenge for TMC to continue cost reduction efforts in order to minimize the increase the vehicle sale price”.
